The saffron genes db is a collection of EST sequences from saffron (Crocus sativus) stigmas.
All high-quality EST sequences have been submitted to GenBank.
The accession numbers are [Genbank: EX142501-EX148702].
You can download the ID converter file [from Saffrongenes IDs to Genbank accession numbers].

- Contigs
- Are obtained by assembling ESTs.
- Singleton
- A stand-alone EST sequence, not included in any contig.
- Cluster
- Is obtained from assembling ESTs. It can consist in one or multiple contigs. In the case of a cluster of multiple contigs each contig share similarities with the others in the cluster because of i) putative alternative transcription or ii) paralogy.
- Gene indices
- Number of Singletons + Clusters.
They represent the number of total predicted gene loci.
- Transcript indices
- Number of Singletons + Contigs.
They represent the number of total predicted transcripts.
